About Digital Damage Control
Natural elements in the wild that humans have grown to know and love are at risk of environmental degradation, due to high concentrations of electronic waste, or e-waste. Higher concentrations of e-waste found in the natural world are likely there in-part because of technological planned obsolescence.

The modern day digital age that exists today creates unique environmental challenges, some of which are addressed within blog posts in Digital Damage Control. It will take innovative solutions to solve the world's major environmental problems, and this is one environmentalist's literary contribution toward that effort.
Digital Damage Control is a showcase of original photography, creative short stories and poems, as well as an educational hub for all things planned obsolescence and e-waste. Grab a reusable water bottle, a sustainable snack, sit back, and enjoy this collection of eco-friendly creative and informative pieces.

About the Author
The Roots
Tessa Munson is an undergraduate student at California State University Monterey Bay, and studies Human Communication with concentrations in Pre-Law and Creative Writing and Social Action. This blog is her culminating capstone project, designed to illuminate her passion for environmentalism while also incorporating Professor Estella Porras' capstone course theme, digital lives.

Tessa grew up in the suburbs of the San Fernando Valley, which is situated in the northern region of the greater Los Angeles area. As a nature lover, Tessa has watched the landscape in Southern California dry up right before her eyes. She watched wet winters that once flooded the streets of LA several times per season, no longer produce the mini in-city rivers that once flowed strong. She swam in lakes around the state as a child that dried up upon adulthood. She sees the negative impacts of climate change on the California landscape, and feels compelled to do what she can to stop it. That is one reason why environmentalism is such a main focus of Tessa's writing.

In order to connect her passion for environmentalism with writing, while also fitting into the broader theme of digital lives, Tessa has decided to focus her capstone project on links between technological planned obsolescence and e-waste.
